Our People

MATT SCHUMAN – Owner/President

Matt started working at Prairie Construction in 2006 after a five-year career as a structural engineer. He graduated with a degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri and an MBA from the University of Nebraska Omaha. Together with Steve Rease, he purchased the company from his father in 2008. Matt oversees estimating and construction operations. He is married with two children.

STEVE REASE – Owner/Executive Vice President

Steve joined Prairie Construction as a general laborer in 1990 while he was a student at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He started full-time at the company in 1993 and served many roles, including estimator and project manager, before purchasing the company with Matt Schuman in 2008. Steve is involved with all construction operations. He is originally from Omaha and is married with five children.

JEN TENSKI – Chief Financial Officer

Jen has managed the company financials and HR duties since joining Prairie Construction in 2013. She is a life-long resident of the Omaha area.

TOM SCHROEDER – General Superintendent

Tom has been an integral part of Prairie Construction since 1992. He oversees all field operations for the company and is involved in every detail of project. He is an Omaha native.

CINDY WOLLENBURG – Office Administrator

Cindy joined the Prairie Construction team in 2004. She is the friendly face that greets customers and visitors in the office and over the phone, and she assists with project management and invoicing. She is originally from Iowa.
