Prairie Construction is proud to celebrate the completion of another exciting project at Creighton University! The renovation of Creighton Hall, the university’s oldest and original building, marks an important step in preserving its history while preparing the space for the future.

Originally constructed in 1877, Creighton Hall has been a central part of the university’s campus for nearly 150 years. This extensive renovation brought much-needed updates to the historic building while maintaining the character that makes it such an important part of Creighton’s history.

Bringing New Life to a Historic Building

The project focused primarily on renovating Creighton Hall’s south wing, with significant upgrades to the building’s infrastructure and interior spaces.

Improvements included:

  • Updated heating, cooling, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Enhanced fire suppression systems for improved safety
  • New ADA-accessible restrooms
  • Updated offices and meeting spaces
  • A new gathering space for the university community

These improvements help create a more accessible, functional, and efficient environment while preserving the historic charm of the building.

Building for the Next Generation

With Creighton University’s 150th anniversary approaching in 2028, the renovation represents an investment in the future of the campus.

Prairie Construction is honored to have played a role in transforming such an important piece of Omaha’s history. As one of several projects our team has completed on Creighton’s campus, this renovation reflects our continued partnership with the university and our commitment to delivering high-quality construction.

We’re proud of the hard work our team put into this project and look forward to seeing Creighton Hall serve the university community for generations to come.
